A Soldier's Life

We often talk about all the things our country is lacking of , for example shelter for all , food and water for all , investments , development and much more. But we never talk about the things we are proud on . So here I would like to dedicate this post on SOLDIERS...
A soldier is the one who fights as a part of an organised , land based armed force despite of which religion he belongs to , or for which religion he is fighting for. He fights for his country no matter which cast he is of or which god does he follows. But we the people of the same country follow this cast system till now. All of us know that every Mohammedan is not a terrorist but we have found that every terrorist is a Mohammedan. But we never thought that how many Mohammedans are in Indian Army or how many Hindus are in Pakistan Army.
The fact is we never thought it in this way. We always had a feeling of adversary and we always grew up listening partition story and developed a feeling of terror with those who are not our type . But did we ever thought , despite of the fact that all of us know that  all the planning was of divide and rule by the Britishers , we are still here fighting with each other and don't know for how much more time . I'm not in a favour of any religion but I'm a human being who likes to respect every person despite of his or her cast or religion. This is what a soldier do , he don't attack because the rival is not his cast or religion but he does attack if someone harms his country , that someone maybe of the same cast or different. And I salute that soldier.

  1. I salute our soldiers too. Thanks for the wonderful blog post. One small correction. You asked " how many Indians are in Pakistan Army". I think you meant "how many Hindus".

  4. In a sense, soldiers are the only ones who die for the country. And their sense of discipline is something that we civilians must learn to adopt.

The link that you make with religion is interesting. Indeed, religion is a lot about faith, and therefore it's best kept personal. There has to be more and more educated people like you who are willing to look beyond caste and religion and respect people for what they are.

One aspect of Indo-Pak relations is that Pakistan was created on the basis of religion; so there is always an element of religion in that relationship, in peace and in war. It will take a huge shift in mindset to get over that. I just hope that will happen, sooner than later.
